Catholic Migration Services (CMS) and Make the Road by Walking (MRNY) present a Citizenship Application Assistance Workshop, Feb. 28, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at 301 Grove St., Brooklyn. Workshop for lawful permanent residents seeking citizenship with one-on-one guidance and legal counseling.
Interested applicants will be pre-screened for eligibility and registered prior to the workshop. They will also be assigned specific times to access volunteers who will assist them with filling out immigration forms and collecting proper supporting documents. Those interested in applying for naturalization must be green-card holders and must present various types of documents: driver’s license (or state ID); all passports; home addresses and job history for the last five years; family and background information and income tax returns in support of fee waivers for those eligible.
The workshop will have immigration attorneys on site, readily available to further assist and counsel clients. In addition, partner organizations will be present during the event to provide referrals and resources on other services available to community members, such as obtaining health insurance.
