Chinese Procession Honors Our Lady of Rosary

About 400 people participated in the Brooklyn Chinese Apostolate’s fourth annual procession Oct. 20 in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary and to celebrate World Mission Sunday.

The event began with people gathering at the Queen of Peace Garden in front of the Basilica of Regina Pacis to pray the Rosary in five languages – English, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and Vietnamese. Everyone then proceeded into the basilica for a Marian Prayer Service led by Auxiliary Bishop Octavio Cisneros.

After Bishop Cisneros blessed the statue of Our Lady of the Rosary, the image of Our Lady of China, the Knights and Ladies of the Rosary and the Apostolate’s Lion Dance Team, the procession began through the streets of Bensonhurst to St. Rosalia Church. In addition to carrying the statue and image of Our Lady, people were also carrying banners of the Creed and images of the mysteries of the rosary.
