Dear Editor: What a pleasure it was to join in the celebration of St. Ephrem’s Monsignor Peter Kain’s 50th anniversary jubilee! It was an affair at which every invited guest was happy to attend.
The presentations made by monsignor’s family members were heart-felt and rife with love and respect. Apparently, he has been the fine, decent person we have come to know for his entire life. That’s not surprising!
As we were saying good night, we mentioned what a beautiful affair it was and well-deserved. In his typically modest way, monsignor responded, “I don’t know how well-deserved this evening was, but I do know I had a good time!”
Again, we say congratulations to our beloved pastor and wish him all the best in his retirement.
