DeSales Media, parent company of The Tablet and NET-TV, and the Diocese of Brooklyn sponsored the first-ever Catholic Day at Citi Field on Sept. 9. Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio was the main celebrant of a morning Mass on the field. During the day, concerts and exhibits were held in an adjacent parking field. In the evening, the participants attended the N.Y. Mets game, a 6-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds. The day was one of the first major events of the Year for Vocations, called by Bishop DiMarzio.
