Sister Mildred Donohue, R.S.M., a Sister of Mercy of the Americas Mid-Atlantic Community for 74 years, died Sept. 1 at Maria Regina Residence in  Brentwood. She was 93.

Frank J. Grande, the father of Father Kenneth Grande, pastor of St. John the Evangelist-St. Rocco, Park Slope, died Sept. 11.

Sister Regina Kraft, O.P., a Sister of St. Dominic, Amityville, for almost 58 years, died Sept. 5. She was 77.

Sister Margaret Mary Connolly, C.S.J.

Sister Margaret Mary Connolly, C.S.J., a Sister of St. Joseph, Brentwood, L.I., for 72 years, died on Aug. 23 at Stella Maris Convent, Rockaway.

Rocco Moretto

Rocco Moretto, a former employee of The Tablet and an American war hero, died in Massapequa Park, L.I., Aug. 27. He spent many months of the past few years at the VA Hospital in St. Albans, Queens. He was 94.

Bishop John E. McCarthy

Bishop John E. McCarthy, who served in Houston and Austin, Texas, and provided national leadership for the church in its work to address systemic poverty, died Aug. 18 at his home in Austin surrounded by his family. He was 88.
