Sister Mary Sheridan, C.S.J., a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, for 74 years, died Feb. 4 at Sacred Heart Convent in Hempstead, L.I.

Sister Janice Brewi, C.S.J.

Sister Janice Brewi, C.S.J., a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood, for 69 years, died Feb. 12 at Maria Regina Residence in Brentwood, L.I. Sister Janice entered the congregation from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Queens in 1951. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history from St. Joseph’s College, a master’s in religious education from La Salle University and her doctorate in adult spirituality from the San Francisco Theological Seminary.

Sister Patricia Maureen (Mary Catherine) Mulryan, S.C.,

Sister Patricia Maureen (Mary Catherine) Mulryan, S.C., who taught at St. Paul’s School in Cobble Hill and who was a member of the Sisters of Charity for 71 years, died on Feb. 9 in New City, N.Y. She was 89.

Maryknoll Missionary, First Bishop of Incheon, S.K.

Bishop William J. McNaughton, a Maryknoll missionary for 66 years and the first bishop of Incheon, South Korea, from 1962 until his retirement 2002, died Feb. 3 at Cedar View Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Methuen. He was 93.

Mary Devine, sister of Father James Devine, a retired priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn, who is presently residing at Bishop Mugavero Residence, Douglaston, died on Jan. 24.

Italian Missionary Made Home in Brooklyn

Father Giorgio Ferrara, P.I.M.E., a member of the P.I.M.E. (Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions) who served as a parochial vicar at the Basilica of Regina Pacis, Bensonhurst, died Jan. 28 in Brooklyn. He was 59.

Chaplain at Queens College Remembered

Father Paul A. Wood, a priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn who was chaplain for the Newman Center at Queens College, died on Jan. 31. He was 65.
