Local College Students Follow Papal Simulcast

All three Catholic colleges in the diocese, St. Francis College and St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn and St. John’s University in Queens, had students at some papal events, but for those who couldn’t get tickets, St. Joseph’s and St. John’s set up TV screens on their campuses to follow the pope’s historic trip.

Sunnyside Parish Doubles Generations Drive Goal

On the heels of Pope Francis’ historic visit to New York, exciting updates for the Generations of Faith campaign continue throughout the diocese. In Sunnyside, Queen of Angels parish has raised $920,000 on its goal of $460,000.

Relics of St. Maria Goretti To Be Venerated in Brooklyn

It is the first time that the saint’s body has travelled to the U.S. and only the second time that it has left Italy. The relics can be venerated at Good Shepherd Church, Marine Park, on Thursday Oct. 1 and at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral, Prospect Heights, on Friday, Oct. 2.
