CTN — the educational media service department of DeSales Media Group, which is The Tablet’s parent company — started “Dial-a-priest” during the year of vocations called by Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio two years ago. The idea is to give students in the Diocese of Brooklyn a chance to meet more priests beyond those in their parish and hear a variety of vocation stories.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan, archbishop of New York, ordained six men as transitional deacons at St. Joseph Seminary in the Dunwoodie section of Yonkers on Nov. 9, including two who are studying to become priests for the Diocese of Brooklyn — Nestor Armando Martinez Barajas and Dragan Pusic.
After Mass, Bishop DiMarzio and six auxiliary bishops prayed in the downstairs crypt at the Immaculate Conception Center for the 16 diocesan priests and deacons who have died within the past year and for the souls of all the clergy who have gone before.

WILLIAMSBURG — Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Williamsburg was vandalized before dawn on Nov. 3, as a suspect damaged a $5,000 statue of St. Jude located outside the church’s rectory.
