Bishop Loughlin M.H.S., Fort Greene, senior guard Khadeen Carrington was named the New York Daily News Brooklyn boys’ high school basketball player of the year.
The Seton Hall bound star led the CHSAA with 24.2 pts. per game and dropped a career-high 42 pts. in the Lions’ diocesan championship victory over Christ the King R.H.S., Middle Village.
He also became the program’s all-time leading scorer with more than 2,000 pts., passing JayVaughn Pinkston who went on to play at Villanova University.
Carrington’s teammate Mike Williams, who will attend Rutgers University, was also named to the Daily News first team. Fellow Loughlinite Javian Delacruz and Nazareth R.H.S., East Flatbush, standout Samson Usilo were named to the second team. Honorable mention was given to Xaverian H.S., Bay Ridge, junior forward Sayon Charles.
