Brother Francis Thomas O’Malley, F.M.S., who taught for over 55 years in New York Marist Schools, died at De LaSalle Home in Lincroft, N.J., Feb. 9. He was 86.
Born in the Bronx, he entered the Marist Brothers in 1948 and made his final vows in 1956.
He taught in St. Helena’s H.S., Bronx, 1951-60; Archbishop Molloy H.S., Briarwood, 1960-63 and 1990-2006; Christ the King H.S., Middle Village, 1963-70 and St. Mary’s H.S., Manhasset, 1970-90. He served in various capacities at Camp Marist in Ossipee, N.H., for over 55 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Feb. 14 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Forest Hills. Burial followed at the Marist Brothers Cemetery, Esopus, N.Y.
