Brooklyn Is Pro-Life: How Catholics Defend Human Dignity in New York City

Brooklyn Is Pro-Life is a special section dedicated to the Church’s belief that being pro-life means defending human dignity at every stage and in every circumstance—not only opposing abortion. In the Diocese of Brooklyn, to be pro-life is to stand with mothers in need, support individuals with disabilities, reject assisted suicide, protect the unborn, and work for social justice.

It means advocating for immigrants, confronting human trafficking, caring for the homeless, and serving the most vulnerable among us. Even in New York City—often called the abortion capital of the world — the Diocese of Brooklyn is proudly and unmistakably pro-life. This special section highlights the people across our diocese living out God’s work every day, bearing witness to a culture of life through faith in action.
