Blood Center Honors Parishes, Schools

A blood donors campaign recognition ceremony was held at Immaculate Conception Center, Douglaston. The New York Blood Center honored the parishes and schools that achieved significant goals with their blood drives. The top three Queens parishes were St. Margaret, Middle Village; Holy Child Jesus, Richmond Hill; and Our Lady of the Snows, N. Floral Park.

The top three Brooklyn parishes were: St. Ephrem, Dyker Heights; Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dyker Heights; and St. Columba, Marine Park.

The top school was Christ the King H.S., Middle Village. The leading Catholic college was St. John’s University, Jamaica. A Special Mention Award was presented to Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens, for increasing its donations by 46 percent.
