Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio and the Catholic Committee on Scouting of the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens will host the annual Bishop’s Dinner for Scouting on Tuesday, May 1 at El Caribe Country Club, Mill Basin.
This year, the Good Scout Honorees are:
– Father Thomas Vassalotti, Eagle Scout and chaplain emeritus to the Catholic Committee on Scouting;
– NYPD Deputy Chief Charles Scholl of Patrol Borough Brooklyn South;
– Douglas Jablon, executive vice president of Maimonides Medical Center, Borough Park, sponsor of the diocesan Celebration of Light; and
– John DeLosa, Long and DeLosa Construction, co-founder of the Celebration of Light.
Awards will be presented to scouting leaders and supporters from parishes in both boroughs.
