Senior Class of 2016 Is College Bound
Bishop Kearney H.S., Bensonhurst, is the only Catholic high school in Brooklyn and Queens that offers CollegeSpring to all juniors.
This program provides an SAT prep course in which students receive both small-group mentoring sessions and large group instruction completely free of charge.
Higher SAT Scores
Students who have gone through the CollegeSpring program have increased their SAT scores by an average of 180 points. This service – valued at $1,100 per student – also includes a complete understanding of the financial aid process.
This fall, in addition to Kearney’s annual college fair, Billie Wei ’13, who attends Harvard University, and Christina Fulton, assistant dean of admissions at Princeton University, spoke to Kearney juniors and seniors about the college process followed by a lively Q-and-A exchange.
Kearney’s Class of 2016 has already earned more than $16 million in college scholarships. Senior Johanna Sullivan was accepted to Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, one of the top-ranked business schools in the country.
Senior Annaliese Tucci is the recipient of a full-tuition, four-year leadership scholarship to Dickinson College awarded through the Posse Foundation. And senior Reanna Lizardo was awarded an academic and athletic scholarship to play softball for the University of Bridgeport. Congratulations to all!
