In an interview with Currents, the diocesan cable TV news show, Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio said it would be years before the apostolic exhortation “Amoris Laetitia” (“The Joy of Love”) is fully understood.

“The pope is telling us, ‘Don’t lead with the rule book, lead with compassion,” said the bishop.

“He’s telling us ‘Take people where they’re at and lead them to some place better.’ That’s not an easy thing to do.”
