Father James P. Fallon, S.S.J., pastor of Immaculate Conception parish, Lebeau, La., will celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving to mark his 50th anniversary of ordination at the church on Sunday, June 3.
Born in Brooklyn, he attended Our Lady of Angels School, Bay Ridge; St. Michael’s H.S., Sunset Park; St. John’s University, Brooklyn; and Epiphany Apostolic College, Newburgh, NY.
He was ordained a Josephite priest June 1, 1968 at Holy Comforter Church, Washington, D.C., by Cardinal Patrick O’Boyle.
He was a member of the faculty at St. Paul’s University, Ottawa, Canada, 1968-73; and St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie, 1971-73, while also teaching at Epiphany Apostolic College.
He served in Josephite parishes in Mississippi, Texas, and New Orleans and was chaplain at the VA Hospital in Gulfport, Texas. He also served several terms as regional director for the Josephites. Since 2016, he has been a pastor in Lebeau.
The Josephites is a congregation of priests and brothers whose exclusive mission is to serve the African-American community.
Wish I knew you were having an annniversary mass. I am a better person because of the influence from Father Fallon.
