Back to School 2014 – St. Rose of Lima Academy

St. Rose of Lima Catholic Academy opened on Sept. 1, 2013 after 48 years as St. Rose of Lima School.

The name may have changed, but the mission is the same.

Every day, the faculty and staff teach the children that “Christ is the reason for our academy; He is to be the center of our lives.”

Prayer and worship play an integral part in the academy’s daily life. The institution considers itself a Catholic academy first and foremost.

From the first moment a visitor walks into the building, he or she is greeted warmly and offered a tour to see what the school has to offer.

A visit to the classrooms offers a glimpse into student/teacher interaction characterized by engagement, excitement and excellence.

Students are motivated and inspired to learn, and teachers demonstrate professional competency in sharing their craft, the art of teaching.

Teachers and students use the SMART Boards, available in every classroom, and iPads to help in educating their students to be career and college ready.

Teaching Respect
Children are happy, and they get along. They are taught that they are all made in the image and likeness of God, even though they may not all look the same or speak the same language at home. They respect one another for this reason. The school is proud to reflect the community that it serves.

The school’s curriculum is based on the Common Core State Standards. St. Rose also prides itself on the inclusion of the arts.

St. Rose of Lima Catholic Academy allows students to grow, knowing that God loves them no matter what and that they are cared for by a nurturing staff and teachers who only want the best for them.
