Back to School 2014 – Take the Next Step at St. Joseph’s College

St. Joseph’s College offers a top-tier education at an affordable cost for students entering for high school, transfer college students and those looking for career advancement.

St. Joseph’s consistently ranks among the nation’s best four-year private colleges because it supports stellar academics, flexible schedules, expert professors, innovative programs – and one of the lowest tuition rates of any private college in New York. Plus, more than 84 percent of students at St. Joseph’s receive some type of financial aid and scholarships.

Innovative New Programs
St. Joseph’s provides all of the knowledge, communication skills and analytical abilities for a solid liberal arts degree. The college offers a broad foundation. It also stays in step with the job market by designing new programs that give students a career edge in this competitive world.

The newest bachelor of sciences degree in hospitality and tourism management has been added to the college’s offerings along with three distinct areas of concentration – tourism, hotel management and health care hospitality – designed to afford students a variety of pathways to pursue a broad range of career choices that align with the most recent trends in employment in the New York region.

Another unique program at St. Joseph’s College is the journalism and new media studies program, which provides a blend of academics and practical skills gained through first-hand experiences with leading media outlets.

This program focuses on four leadership core courses and six special education classes, providing students with a range of certification options. St. Joseph’s also recently added several dual degrees for the B.A. or B.S./M.A. in adolescence special education or math education on the Long Island campus in Patchogue to help students save time and money in completing their graduate degrees.

St. Joseph’s understands the unique needs of adult students. That’s why the college offers a wide range of unique programs, each with affordability, flexibility and convenience, with several one-third grant offerings toward tuition for students who qualify. For students looking for graduate programs, the school offers intensive graduate programs leading to master’s degrees in business, education, human services and nursing, as well as an M.F.A. in Creative Writing (Brooklyn only). The expert faculty brings both scholarship and relevant work experience into the classroom, and they schedule classes at times that work for working students – evenings, weekends and even online.

Building Personal Connections
St. Joseph’s supports more than 35 lively campus clubs on both the Brooklyn and Long Island campuses, and the Division III athletic programs are flourishing. St. Joseph’s is about to open its doors to a new state-of-the-art athletic center in Brooklyn that offers basketball and volleyball courts, a dance studio and fitness center, set to be complete in Fall 2014. On the Long Island campus, students will enjoy a new athletic complex with a stadium; playing fields for lacrosse, soccer, baseball and softball; tennis courts; a track; and a new field house.
