Back to School 2014 – St. Agnes Houses Young Women of Faith

St. Agnes Academic High School is a small, college preparatory Catholic school in College Point for young women, where each girl is known by name and respected for her individual gifts and talents.

St. Agnes was founded in 1908 by the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville, L.I., and continues its mission today to graduate young women who are open to growth, intellectually competent, socially aware, morally discerning and committed to being women of integrity and truth.

St. Agnes has it all: moderate class size, an outstanding and dedicated faculty of religious and lay teachers and comprehensive academic and extracurricular programs.

The school offers a full athletic program, dance classes for all students in its new dance studio, a fitness center and the very latest technology, including iPads. Through school liturgies, volunteer work and retreats, students are encouraged to become young women of faith and service.

College credit and Advanced Placement courses are offered in math, science, art, history, English, Spanish and psychology. St. Agnes also boasts of its Science Research Program affiliated with the University at Albany, N.Y. St. Agnes students have the opportunity to graduate from high school with up to 37 college credits.

St. Agnes is a caring, faith-filled school community where diversity is recognized and celebrated.

The school’s open house will be Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
