Allow God to Pave Your Path

MY DAD, the late Eugene Panicali, had a penchant for blasting the sitting mayor or governor every time he’d go over a pothole or a rut in the road – as if the politician were personally responsible for the crater that threw his wheels out of alignment.

I Let Jesus Find Me

We Are All Romans

As is his custom, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, stopped into the Basilica of Saint Mary in Rome both before and after his Apostolic Journey to Bangladesh and Myanmar. The Pontiff goes to the image of Our Lady under the title of Salus Populi Romani (The Health {or Protection} of the Roman People) to offer a prayer of petition and thanksgiving. Handing over all things to the Lord Jesus, under the patronage of His Blessed Mother, is a hallmark of all Catholics, but Francis seems to have a particular devotion to Mary.

Dear Editor: Congratulations to Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish on its 125th anniversary.

Fr. Flanagan of Dunwoodie

Maronite Memories

Dear Editor: You recently posted something from Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite church in Brooklyn Heights.

Long-Range Assistance

At our two houses of worship, we collected donations from parishioners and community residents for several weeks.
