Father Pawel Lis of Holy Cross, Maspeth, welcomed and blessed pets of all kinds in the rectory garden. Dogs, cats, birds and even a few insects were brought out to receive the blessing and celebrate the Feast of St. Francis Assisi, the patron saint of animals.
