When you love what you do for a job, it really doesn’t seem like work. For Patrick Dietz, coaching volleyball for more than 15 years has become his passion, and that passion is heading to Clinton Hill.

The New York State Baseball Hall of Fame inducted a 17-member Class at the Hilton Hotel of Troy. Several players and coaches with local ties to Brooklyn and Queens were enshrined.

Of course the ties to St. John’s are present, but for the five-time NBA All-Star and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer, the ties to the entire Diocese of Brooklyn make this coaching homecoming that much more special.

Raising Awareness in Ozone Park

St. Stanislaus parish, Ozone Park, hosted the “Battle Against Breast Cancer,” a preseason Catholic Youth Organization basketball tournament to raise funds for breast cancer research.
