Choosing the right high school is a difficult and important decision. Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School invites prospective students to visit the school for a Shadow Day or personal tour.
There is a reason that most families choose Loughlin once they have spent time on campus: They realize that the school truly wants to partner with them and their children on their road to a bright future.
Loughlin is a co-educational, college-preparatory, Roman Catholic high school located in beautiful Fort Greene. The enrollment is nearly 700 students, making it the fifth-largest Catholic high school in Brooklyn and Queens.
Rich History and Innovation
Loughlin has a long and proud history. A notable moment was when the school band played for President Abraham Lincoln’s funeral procession in 1865.
Today, this vibrant learning community is home to one of the finest STEM programs in New York City, offers a renowned music program and has one of most decorated athletic programs in the country.
On average, 99 percent of Loughlin’s seniors graduate each year. At least 97 percent attend college, and the majority receive scholarships. Graduates typically are awarded more than $15,000,000 in scholarships and aid.
Some colleges and universities to which graduates have been accepted in recent years include: Babson, Columbia, Cornell, Fordham, Georgetown, Hampton, Hobart and William Smith, Holy Cross, La Salle, Manhattan College, Morehouse, NYU, University of Pennsylvania, Penn State, Seton Hall, St. Francis College, St. John’s University, SUNY Binghamton, Villanova and the University of Virginia.
