The White House on Tuesday announced that Americans can now request a third order of free, at-home coronavirus tests shipped through the U.S. Postal Service.
This will allow each household to have 16 tests.
The tests, authorized by the Food and Drug Administration, are available on a federal website, extending a pledge President Joe Biden made during the winter outbreak of the Omicron variant, when test kits were scarce and Americans faced empty shelves and long testing lines.
Roughly 350 million test kits have already been delivered to 70 million homes, which marks more than 50% of U.S. households.
