As an early Christmas present to its major benefactors, the Catholic Foundation of Brooklyn and Queens and Futures in Education of the Diocese of Brooklyn invited these supporters to a Christmas Concert at Annunciation Church in Williamsburg, Dec. 10. Special guests included Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio and retired Auxiliary Bishop Guy Sansaricq.
“This is a way to thank all the benefactors of Futures in Education, the Annual Catholic Appeal and Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens, which help Catholic education,” said Msgr. Jamie Gigantiello, the pastor of Annunciation and diocesan vicar for development.
The event was hosted by actor Anthony Mangano, host of NET-TV’s “City of Churches.” Among those headlining the event were singers Alfio and Charlie Romo, pictured at top, and Steven Frank, organist and choir director of St. Matthias parish, Ridgewood. The concert had two sets where musicians presented renditions of various tunes, including “The Little Drummer Boy,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Hallelujah,” “Ave Maria” and “New York, New York.” — Marietha Góngora
