A Day to Remember

July 11, 2012 will be remembered in diocesan history as the day when Brooklyn and Queens received its two new auxiliary bishops: Raymond F. Chappetto and Paul R. Sanchez.  Our Lady of Angels Church in Bay Ridge was the scene for the ordination.  Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio was the main consecrator while Auxiliary Bishops Frank Caggiano and Octavio Cisneros were the principal co-consecrators.  Cardinal Edward Egan, the retired Archbishop of New York, presided as 25 bishops were in attendance.  Photos capture the spirit of the day as family and friends came out to wish the new prelates well.
