Catholic Schools Week 2017

Our Lady of Perpetual Help, South Ozone Park

Where Students Find God in All Things

As one of the borough’s largest Catholic academies – with over 500 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade – the faculty and staff of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy are diligent in their commitment to the spiritual, intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth of each child. This can be witnessed in the accomplishments of their students and graduates.

Located in South Ozone Park, the multi-sensory, Common Core curriculum and cross-curriculum instruction at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy ensures that each student’s individual needs are met.

All Modalities of Learning

Because every student is different, the faculty and staff at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy identify and cater in a variety of different learning styles. Whether students are visual, auditory or kinesthetic learners, “we help every child find success by including all modalities of learning,” says Mrs. Frances DeLuca, principal.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy opened in 1927 and has remained dedicated to the development of Christian values ever since.

“Our students find God in all things. They are spiritual, disciplined and compassionate people of integrity. The leaders of tomorrow begin in our Catholic schools,” says Mrs. DeLuca.

At Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy, students consistently show outstanding performance in mathematics, language arts and sciences on statewide testing. All members of the Class of 2016 were accepted into Catholic and specialized public high schools. In many cases, students received scholarships.

“We really have a great academy,” says Mrs. DeLuca. “It isn’t just about what we offer. It’s also a place where we partner with parents.”
