Catholic Schools Week 2017

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Academy

Voted ‘Best of the Boro’ by Queens Courier

Located in the heart of Bayside, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Academy was recently voted “Best Catholic School in Queens” in the Queens Courier’s annual “Best of the Boro” contest.

That is because the academy is completely focused on supplying children with the best education possible. The school has partnered with parents in Northeast Queens neighborhoods since 1951.

The mission of the academy is to establish a safe, family, learning environment where students are inspired to embrace Catholic values, be lifelong learners, be active members of the church community and to obtain the necessary skills for future leadership.

The academic program provides a quality Catholic education through the implementation of diocesan and New York State Standards in an environment that challenges and encourages students to work to their full potential.

The academy aspires to develop many areas of a child’s God given talents. A comprehensive music program offers instruction in all grades, nursery through grade eight, including recorder karate in grades three through six.

The Early Childhood Program is planned with a keen awareness of the special characteristics, needs, differentiated learning styles and interests of children ages three to five.

Recognizing how vital this period is as a foundation for a child’s total development, the academy seeks to promote a safe and nurturing environment where children are given the opportunity to develop spiritually, socially, intellectually and physically.

Foundation for Future Success

The Class of 2016 received over 20 scholarships to Catholic high schools and students were also accepted into the Bronx High School of Science, Townsend Harris High School and Regis High School.

In addition, recent alumni of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Academy are now attending prestigious universities, including Harvard, Yale, Georgetown, Stanford, Vanderbilt University and U Penn, to name a few.
