Ten members of the Rosary Society from Astoria’s Immaculate Conception Church, and their pastor, Msgr. Fernando Ferrarese, made a pilgrimage to St. Augustine Church last Saturday, Oct. 15. Pilgrims learned about the art, architecture and history of the parish. Msgr. Ferrarese, former pastor, 1991-96, could be heard recalling how amazing it was for him, “a boy from East New York,” when he was named pastor of this historic church, often praised as the ‘Notre Dame’ or ‘Cathedral’ of Park Slope.
