Deacon Angel Baez, 81, a one-year resident of Braemar Living at Wallkill, N.Y., died July 26, following a long illness, at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown.

Born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, he worked as a locksmith for Arrow Lock in New York City. He was an ordained as a deacon on March 23, 1985, and served at Epiphany Church in Williamsburg.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 30 at Holy Name of Jesus Church, Otisville.

He is survived by his son, Angelo and daughters, Shirley Baez of Orlando, Fla., and Wanda Torres of Middletown; brothers, Jose and Marcellino Baez; and sisters, Mary and Virginia. Burial will take place in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen.
