Four buses of pilgrims from St. Sebastian Church, Woodside, visited the six Holy Doors for the Jubilee Year of Mercy in Brooklyn and Queens. Before the buses embarked on pilgrimage, confessions were heard in the school auditorium. Once the pilgrims were on board, Father Kevin Abels, pastor, visited each bus and blessed all of the pilgrims. They attended a 9 a.m. Mass at St. Gerard Majella, Hollis, and then went to visit St. Thomas Aquinas, Flatlands; the Basilica of Regina Pacis, Bensonhurst; the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph, Prospect Heights; the Cathedral-Basilica of St. James, Downtown Brooklyn; and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Astoria. Above, the group poses for a group photo at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral. Below, Msgr. John Brown, pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas, welcomes them to the church. Accompanying the pilgrims was Father Rodnev Lapommeray, parochial vicar at St. Sebastian. Below right, the pilgrims process through the Holy Door at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
