VBCC Youth Leadership
The VBCC Youth Leadership program is a select group of High School students (freshman to seniors) who have shown leadership qualities, and want to give back to their community and the Church. These young people have demonstrated their abilities to be leaders, a desire to succeed and want to be involved in the future of their Church. The Youth Leadership Team meets at various times during the year for meetings and events where they are exposed to different leadership, entrepreneurship, success and college-ready skills.
Each youth is expected to attend scheduled Vicariate events, Ambassador Enrichment days, a youth retreat and a community service event. As the faces of the future of the Vicariate, the youth will serve as ushers of hospitality, altar servers and lectors. These young people will serve as representatives of the Vicariate of Black Catholic Concerns.
Scheduled events for this year include: Kujenga Youth Leadership Retreat; Praise Prayer Brunch; Ambassador Enrichment Day; Martin Luther King Jr.; February, 2016- Youth and Young Adult Leadership Conference; Black History Month Mass of Thanksgiving; Youth Lock-In; Ambassador Jamaica Night Fundraising Dinner-Dance; Ambassador Big Brother/Big Sister Gathering; July 2016 Mission Trip to Jamaica.
If you are interested in the program, you will need to fill out an application. Please email vbccambassadors@gmail.com.
