The St. John’s Prep, Astoria, varsity soccer team captured the CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens ‘A’ division soccer championship, 3-1, over Bishop Ford H.S., Park Slope, at Coffee Field on the campus of Fordham University, the Bronx.

John Yavaldakis, Gabriel Restaino and Jared Daly scored goals for the Red Storm.

At halftime of the contest, four members of the team were honored as members of the CHSAA Varsity ‘B’ All-League Team: Yavaldakis, Restaino, Roger Delgado and Lenin Sales.
