The annual Scholarship Dinner, conducted each year by the Futures in Education Foundation, took place Oct. 9 in the main ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan. More than $2 million was raised to support Catholic education in Brooklyn and Queens. Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio congratulated the honorees – N.Y.C. Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, seen below, and Anthony J. Bonomo, above, CEO, PRI/Administrators for the Professions. Fox-TV personality Rosanna Scotto, a graduate of Visitation Academy, Bay Ridge, was the emcee. Entertainment was provided by children from St. Bernard’s School and Mary Queen of Heaven School, both in Mill Basin, as well as two of the New York City Tenors, Daniel Rodriguez and Andy Cooney.
