The Brooklyn Chinese Apostolate brought friends, family and the Church community together for a day of games and performances. The organization’s lay committee organized a Summer Fun Day at St. Agatha School, Sunset Park. This marks the second year the event. Last year, it was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Sunset Park.
Hundreds of people came to enjoy the fun. Children especially reveled in face-painting, a magic show, animal balloons, bounce houses, a waterslide and all kinds of interesting games with wonderful prizes. Adults enjoyed the entertainment program, which included ethnic Chinese dance, fan dance, drum dance, as well as some children’s performances. At one point most of the performers got on the stage for a free-for-all Gangnam Style dance!
The event was sponsored by the Chinese parishioners from St. Rosalia-Regina Pacis, Bensonhurst, St. Agatha and Our Lady of Perpetual Help, with some helping hands from the Knights of Columbus Brooklyn Council No. 60. The Brooklyn Chinese Apostolate hopes to organize more fun-filled events as a way to attract more Chinese parishioners into the Church.
