Two local CHSAA varsity basketball stars played for the N.Y.C. East team in the “Big Strick” Classic Aug. 10 at Gauchos Gym, the Bronx. The third annual game is named after Brooklyn street ball legend John “The Franchise” Strickland and showcases the top high school basketball talent in the country. Christ the King R.H.S., Middle Village, rising sophomore small forward Rawle Alkins and Bishop Loughlin M.H.S., Fort Greene, rising senior shooting guard Khadeen Carrington represented the Diocese of Brooklyn well in the N.Y.C. East team’s 126-110 win.
