Informative Article on the Meaning Behind Vestments for Mass
Dear Editor: The Tablet has helped make me a better person.
‘It feeds me so much information about my faith and my Church.
In a recent edition of The Tablet, I was especially impressed when I turned the page to the centerfold and saw, (“The Meaning Behind Vestments,” April 18).
What each garment a priest wears, what each represents, and what the different colors of the chasuble mean? I held my breath.
I have copies for all my grandchildren to make cutouts.

Sainthood Cause for Father Capodanno
Dear Editor: I would like to thank Senior Reporter Paula Katinas for her article in the recent issue of the Tablet (“Renewed Push for Father Capodanno Sainthood Enters Crucial Juncture,” April 25).
I found the article most profound in its description of a good priest who gave his life protecting wounded fellow Marines. He should have been approved as a saint long ago.
He died in 1967 and had served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He was only 38 years old when he passed.
In my opinion, Father Capodanno gave his life protecting others.
I served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era as well.
I firmly believe Father Vincent Capodanno’s cause should proceed in the Church to be named a saint.

A Letter of Thanks to All Sisters
Dear Editor: Every week, I read the obituaries in The Tablet, and am struck by the lives of the religious sisters listed.
These are the women who have devoted their lives to teaching us. They worked in our grammar schools, high schools, and colleges. They did it with grace and the love of God.
How sad it is that we say goodbye to this era of women.
They definitely were my teachers, and I certainly benefited from being in their classrooms. I will continue to read the obituaries and offer a prayer of thanks for these great ladies.
I take nothing away from the wonderful teachers in our Catholic schools now.
They are dedicated and extremely well-equipped to give our children the best education possible.
