PROSPECT HEIGHTS — Bishop Robert Brennan has released a highlight video of the Diocese of Brooklyn’s Eucharistic Revival that was celebrated on April 20.
“I am overwhelmed by the genuine outpouring of faith-filled love for Jesus from Catholics in Brooklyn and Queens that I experienced at the Diocese of Brooklyn Eucharistic Revival at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Flushing,” Bishop Brennan wrote on Facebook.
“It would not have been possible without the tremendous work of so many. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he added.
Some 7,000 pilgrims attended the Eucharistic Revival, one of the grassroots gatherings taking place across the country as part of the National Eucharistic Revival, an initiative launched in 2022 by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Sixty priests, 20 deacons, and 15 seminarians were seated on the court, which was repurposed for the day to accommodate the altar on which Bishop Brennan celebrated Mass. The stands were filled with the faithful from at least 35 parishes in Brooklyn and Queens.
In addition to the Mass, the ceremony featured an Angelus, praise and worship, witness testimonies, the rosary led by young people who had taken part in World Youth Day in Portugal last summer, live music performed by a choir of members from across the diocese, and a Eucharistic procession in which a monstrance carrying the Blessed Sacrament was held aloft by Bishop Brennan for all to see.
The bishop specifically thanked Father Joseph Gibino and the staff of the Secretariat for Evangelization and Catechesis; Father Alonzo Cox and the Office of Liturgy, Music, Art and Architecture; Father James Kuroly and the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry; the Office of Marriage, Family Formation, and Respect Life Education; the Diocesan Volunteer Community Choir; the Children’s Choir of Midwood Catholic Academy; Alverlis; members of the Garifuna Community; and St. Michael’s Drum Corps.
