BAYSIDE — Bishop Robert Brennan celebrated the feast day of his namesake at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Bayside with about 200 parishioners.
At the beginning of his homily, Bishop Brennan spoke of the importance of the patron saint in his life and how well he knows St. Robert Bellarmine’s life, even doing a school report on him when he was a child.
During the Mass on Sept. 17, which was Catechetical Sunday, the parish’s catechists came up to the altar and were blessed by Bishop Brennan and the pastor, Father Gabriel Lee.
