Sister Mary Aquin Flaherty, S.C., a member of the Sisters of Charity for 77 years who taught at the former Bishop McDonnell Memorial H.S. in Brooklyn from 1959-67, died on Jan. 29 at the Kittay Senior Apartments in the Bronx. She was 98.

Born in Scotland and raised in Manhattan, She entered her congregation in 1942 and professed her final vows in 1948. Sister Mary spent most of her career teaching at schools in the Archdiocese of New York.
