Well, it’s that time of the year again. Christmas day has passed and now it’s time to go back to school. I hope all of you had an awesome Christmas! Have you noticed that whenever the upcoming year approaches, we make New Year’s resolutions but don’t always keep them? That’s why I’m here to help you keep your New Year’s resolutions and to have a fun and productive year.

Make Your Resolutions Clear and Reasonable

This is really important because you want to make sure you know what resolutions you’re actually following and figure out a plan on how to stick to them.

Also, it’s really important to keep your resolutions understandable because if you list crazy resolutions for yourself, you won’t be able to follow them, and you’ll be disappointed if you don’t stick to them. Think of it this way, it’s better to have a fewresolutions and to have followed them all than to have so many but to only have followed a couple of them.

Remember Your Resolutions Daily

In order to keep your resolutions and stick to your goals, you should remind yourself of them daily. You don’t want to forget them by the

second day of the new year, that would be a waste! My advice: keep a daily planner or small to-do list that you write your resolutions and reminders daily.

Trust me, it works. Fortunately, I already have a planner that I use to write down my homework, but I also write down my daily reminders there too. Also, sometimes I write little inspiring and motivating notes to myself, like “Be the best you that you could be” and “Remember, no day is a waste unless you let it be one.” You should try this, it helps a lot.

Have Discipline, But Do Your Best

Remember, New Year’s resolutions are for YOU. They shouldn’t be stressful, they should actually be fun. Think of these goals as a challenge that will have great benefits if you complete it. But don’t be so hard on yourself if you don’t keep all of them, because that’s ok. As long as you tried your best, that’s what matters.

Whenever you do feel like giving up, remember how bad you want it. Think of how happy and achieved you’ll feel at the end of the year when you realize how far you’ve come.

It’s important to remember as human beings that we can never be perfect, so don’t beat yourself up if you make a mistake. Just try your best and give everything your all.

Let’s face it, we all have things we feel we could do better. For instance, I know some of my resolutions are that I want to stop procrastinating and start thinking of what I want my career to be. What are your New Year’s resolutions?
