Oh, say did you see … the Our Lady of Grace Youth Choir from Howard Beach singing the National Anthem at Citi Field when the New York Mets successfully took on the Philadelphia Phillies June 30. Singing at Citi Field was the proud culmination of a nine-month process that began with an audition last September to coordinating a game date, choosing which sections to reserve seats, selling 420 tickets, coordinating numbers for the backs of the singers’ shirts, and of course, rehearsing “The Star-Spangled Banner” with the 42 youth choir members, who range in age from eight to 15.
