Sister Mary Elizabeth Phelan, S.C., (Sister Raymond Marian), a Sister of Charity of New York for 63 years, died at Kittay House, the Bronx, July 2. She was 80.

She taught first grade at St. John the Baptist in Bedford-Stuyvesant, 1957–59, and first and second grades at Assumption, Brooklyn Heights, 1959–62.

The burial of her cremains will take place at the Cemetery of Mount St. Vincent.
