48th Friday Film Festival Continues Through Oct. 17

The 48th Friday Film Festival, presented by Tablet columnist Father Robert Lauder and the diocesan Office of Faith Formation’s School of Evangelization, kicked off last weekend at the Immaculate Conception Center, Douglaston, and continues through Oct. 17.

Here is the upcoming schedule:

– Irving Pichel’s “Tomorrow Is Forever” – Sept. 12;

– Frank Borzage’s “Strange Cargo” – Sept. 19;

– Florian Henckel’s “The Lives of Others” (with subtitles) – Sept. 26;

– Pablo Trapero’s “White Elephant” – Oct. 3; and

– David Anspaugh’s “Rudy” – Oct. 17

Films are shown at 8 p.m., followed by a brief discussion and question period with Father Lauder. The suggested donation is $6 per film. Tickets may be obtained at the door or in advance by mailing a stamped self-addressed envelope and a check payable to the RC Diocese of Brooklyn, Attn: School of Evangelization, 310 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn, NY 11215.
