The diocese will conduct a local observance of “24 Hours for the Lord” March 4 and 5, at the Cathedral Basilica of St. James, Downtown Brooklyn.

This is being done in response to a request by Pope Francis that every diocese sponsor this period of prayer as part the extraordinary Year of Mercy.

The evening will begin on Friday, March 4, at 7 p.m. with Auxiliary Bishop James Massa celebrating evening prayer.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with confessions will continue through the evening.

Closing Mass will be celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Octavio Cisneros on Saturday, March 5 at noon.
