Sister Margaret Mary Ford, C.S.J., a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, L.I., for 66 years, died Nov. 19.
She entered the congregation in 1947, from St. Teresa of Avila parish, Prospect Heights. She attended the Catholic University of Puerto Rico and was an educator in Puerto Rico for 30 years.
Formerly known as Sister Martina Maria, she also taught at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Sunset Park, 1949-50; Epiphany, Williamsburg, 1950-53; St. Clare, Rosedale, 1966-67; and St. Charles Borromeo, Brooklyn Heights, 1984-85. In Puerto Rico, she taught at Colegio San Conrado, 1953-62; Academia San Jorge, 1962-66; Academia Maria Reina, San Juan, 1983-84; and served as principal at Santa Teresita, Puerto Rico, 1967-83. She was principal at St. Michael, Sunset Park, 1985-2001, and continued on as the school librarian until her retirement in 2004.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Sacred Heart Chapel, Brentwood, Nov. 24. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
