17 Men Will Be Ordained as Deacons To Serve in Brooklyn and Queens

Gregory Bizzoco, director of religious education at Queen of Peace parish, Kew Gardens, was born in Manhattan.

He is active as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, as a coordinator of sacramental preparations, a lector; participates in the men’s prayer group and discussion group; and is a member of the Parish Pastoral Council.

A Mass of thanksgiving will be celebrated at Queen of Peace Church on Sunday, June 9, at 11 a.m.

Robert Cosgrove, of Good Shepherd parish, Marine Park, was born in Brooklyn. Married to Arlene, he has three children and three grandchildren. He’s retired from the NYC Transportation Authority.

He is active in his parish as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, lector, belongs to Hope Ministries, visits the homebound, sets up healing ministry Masses and assists the religious education program.

A Mass of thanksgiving was celebrated at Good Shepherd Church on April 21, at 11 a.m.

Alberto Cruz, of St. Martin of Tours parish, Bushwick, was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Married to Janet, he has one daughter. He is a technician specialist for Xerox.

He is involved in RCIA, CCD and the parish’s faith formation team. He is also an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion.

A Mass of thanksgiving will be celebrated at St. Martin de Tours Church on Sunday, May 26, at 9 a.m.

Carlos Culajay of St. Jerome parish, Flatbush, was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Married to Rosa, he has four children and 10 grandchildren. He is an automobile mechanic.

He is active in his parish as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, lector and a member of the pastoral council.

William Cullen of St. Saviour parish, Park Slope, was born in Brooklyn. Married to Maureen, he has seven children and 10 grandchildren. He is a retired iron worker with the Department of Education.

He is active in his parish as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, acolyte, lector, music minister and does pastoral care at New York Methodist Hospital where Maureen works.

Fernando Luces of St. Rita parish, Long Island City, was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Married to Roxana, he has two children and two grandchildren. He works as an X-ray technician.

He is active in his parish as the Pastoral Council coordinator, RCIA coordinator, extraordinary minister of Holy Communion and a lector. He is also a member of the finance council.

He is active in his parish and is involved in the Movement de Evangelización Familiar with emphasis in marriages, RCIA, Cursillo, Pastoral Hispana and Posadas.
