Tie on your sneakers, don something green and arrive early to the Great Irish Fair grounds on Saturday, Sept. 13 to take part in the annual 5K Race/Run/Walk.
All adults, children and families are welcome.
Participants will start and finish at West 21st Street on the Riegelmann Boardwalk in front of the Old Children’s Building on Coney Island Beach.
Registration will begin and race packets will be available for pick up at the start location on the morning of the run/walk.
Race numbers, T-shirts and food vouchers must be picked up by 10:30 a.m. in order to participate.
Complimentary baggage facilities will be provided as a courtesy.
The race kicks off at 11 a.m. with the Irish and U.S. national anthems.
Registration is only $20 through Sept. 8, and $30 up to and including the race day.
College students will receive discounts with school identification and youth, age 15 and under, pay only $15.
Benefits Catholic Education
All registration fee proceeds go to the Futures in Education Scholarship Fund, which benefits boys and girls who attend or wish to attend Catholic schools in Brooklyn and Queens.
All runners receive complimentary entry into the fair and a complimentary food and beverage voucher for that day.
Prizes will be awarded for the top three male and female runners/walkers.
After the run, adults may enjoy a pint of beer at the Great Irish Fair during the awards ceremony on the main fair grounds.
