Witness to Mercy Series in Greenpoint/Williamsburg

Year-of-Mercy-LogoIn this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Divine Mercy parish in Greenpoint/Williamsburg, is offering several mercy-themed events, including its ongoing Witness to Mercy Series. Each month, a different person will give a witness talk about an experience of God’s mercy, change and hope. David Bisono kicked off the series last month with his talk “From Lost on the Streets to Lost in God’s Love.”

The upcoming schedule is as follows:

March 13 – Barbara La Porte, St. Francis of Paola Church, 1 p.m.
Topic: Learning to forgive after losing her son at Virginia Tech massacre

April 17 — Msgr. Charles Fink, St. Cecilia Church, 1 p.m.
Topic: Catholic convert and Vietnam veteran speaks about God’s mercy

May 22 — Brittni Ruiz, St. Cecilia Church, 1 p.m.
Topic: Former adult star escapes porn industry, discovers God’s grace and mercy

Sept. 17 — Patti Kelly, St. Francis of Paola Church, 6 p.m.
Topic: Recovering from addiction, finding vocation to liberate others from substance abuse
