On Pentecost Sunday, May 24, Holy Trinity parish, Whitestone, celebrated its 50th anniversary as a parish with a Mass of thanksgiving followed by a gala luncheon at Marina Del Rey.

In a letter of congratulation to Father Joseph Gibino, pastor, Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio wrote:

“It has been fifty years since your first Mass and, to this day, the Parish of Holy Trinity continues its outstanding ministry to the Whitestone community. Through the many good works in education and faith formation and endless charitable endeavors, you have built a family of faith that has remained constant to the work of the Lord we serve.

“Over the last half century, Holy Trinity parish has grown and changed, as has the Diocese of Brooklyn. The continued dedication of your parish to its people is one of the greatest examples of the responsibility of serving others, the central foundation of our faith.”
